Handpainted wooden boxes and storage vessels
Spandoses, storage, and powder vessels – painted based on historical models, medieval manuscript illustrations, or geometric patterns. On request, each piece can be decorated with an individual motif.
Those wooden boxes (in German “Spandosen”) were essentially the storage boxes of the Middle Ages, used for keeping and transporting various dry foods and spices. They are therefore ideal for any camp kitchen.
Current sizes I produce:
- Round, small: 5 cm
- Round, medium: 6 cm
- Round, large: 12 cm
- Oval, small: 12 × 9 cm
- Oval, medium: 15 × 11 cm
- Oval, large: 16.5 × 14 cm
Other sizes are also possible upon request.
Custom-painted boxes and storage containers
In close collaboration, we create a custom motif together. Inspiration can come from paintings, games, or other sources. I then translate it into a medieval or otherwise requested style.
Boxes and storage vessels with motifs from manuscript illustrations or historical replica
Hand-painted spandoses, powder, and storage vessels based on historical models from medieval, renaissance, or baroque manuscript art. Geometric designs inspired by Gothic tracery or paintings from the respective period are also possible. I research suitable historical examples and create each piece according to your wishes.
