Handpainted shields
Hand-painted shields, either inspired by historical originals or designed entirely individually. Each piece is crafted with great care and tailored to your needs. Whether as equipment for reenactment, as a decorative element, or as a collector’s item – these shields combine function with artistic design. Upon request, I can paint personal coats of arms, motifs, or create complete scenes.
Currently, I produce the following types of shields:
Parade shields based on historical originals
Elaborately painted shields inspired by historical models – up to full replicas of original finds. For each piece, I research suitable references and carefully bring them to life. On request, I can add Middle High German motto scrolls or personal motifs. This way, the shields are suitable both for reenactment and as unique pieces for a collection.
Parade shields with individual motifs
Depending on your wishes, I design complete scenes in the desired medieval style. From simple depictions to elaborate, detailed motifs, many options are possible. These designs are suitable for reenactment as well as for LARP and can be individually customized.
Heraldic shields
Paintings with simple heraldic colors are possible, as well as full coats of arms including motto scrolls. You can choose between a modest or a more elaborate design. The simpler versions are especially well-suited for combat or fencing.
Shields with simple, custom painting
They resemble coat of arms shields, but the design of the motif can be chosen more freely. Unlike parade shields, the painting is deliberately kept simple so the shields maintain their effectiveness in use. They are built to be sturdy, making them ideal for combat or fencing.
