From the idea to the finished piece
Smaller works and custom projects
In addition to “historical” painting, I also create various smaller items, with or without painting. Most of them still have a historical reference, but see for yourself.
Currently, I produce:
Custom painting projects
I am also happy to take on smaller painting projects or custom work that are not listed among my standard pieces. Whether it’s small paintings, tent altars, painted furniture, or even patches for a heraldic surcoat, feel free to get in touch!

Painted bags
Hand-painted fabric bags featuring motifs from medieval, Renaissance, or Baroque manuscript art. I paint them in a woodcut/engraving style using textile paints, which are then fixed for durability. Custom coats of arms or personal motifs are also possible.

Lacing cords
Almost every late medieval garment typically includes a set of lacing cords, which I also produce alongside to my painting work. In the standard form they are hand-braided from two colors of cotton thread, and the tips are then attached. The lacing tips are simple small pieces made of brass sheet, which – in my experience – fit all the usual eyelets used by garment makers. The cords are approximately 30 cm long without the tips.
Pricing:
- Lacing cord with tip, single: €6
- Lacing cord with tip, 5-pack: €27
- Lacing cord without tip, single: €4.50
- Lacing cord without tip, 5-pack: €20
Tips can, of course, be added to cords sold without them, and custom orders are also possible. You can choose different colors, lengths, and types of tips. Braiding with hand-spun wool in various patterns and diameters is also possible, and the tips can be sewn on if desired. Feel free to ask!

Not what you are looking for?
As mentioned above, I am open to any new project, even if it is not listed yet. I love exploring new ideas and look forward to your inquiry!
